Medication Management

Many of our patients have a need or desire to take conventional medications because of the severity of their symptoms. In cases of schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar I disorder, or any condition that has high risk symptoms, we encourage our patients to use the best of both worlds of medicine for optimal outcomes.

Naturopathic doctors in Arizona are licensed to manage many prescription medications. With regard to prescriptions for mental health, we can prescribe and manage antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anxiety medications, and sleep medications, non-stimulant ADHD medications. We cannot prescribe antipsychotic meds or stimulant ADHD medications, so if you are taking these medications, we will collaborate with a practitioner who can prescribe them for you.

We want our patients to have the greatest quality of life and success in achieving their health goals. Sometimes the right medication is a part of that journey. As naturopathic doctors, we are always looking to use the minimum effective dose of any medication in order to provide the best outcomes with the least side effects. Homeopathic and natural remedies can also often reduce medication side effects, so combining these therapies is often an excellent option.

See below for details on what medications we can manage. Expand each category to see drug names.
